MANILA, Philippines – Jovanie “Bunny” Malunda, a former scholar of “Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2,” shared her excitement over her self-titled debut album which was launched on Wednesday.

“Happy and very flattered po kasi sa dami-dami ng artists sa Pilipinas, they chose me, ‘yung mga producers ko,” she told abs-cbnNEWS.com.

The album was produced by European Jaye Muller and American Ben Patton, who were also behind KC Concepcion’s songs such as “Not Like the Movies” and “After the End.”

Included in Malunda’s first CD are original songs like “Sarcastic” and “Mad Lover,” a duet with her husband, Chivas, who is also a former “Pinoy Dream Academy” scholar.

Malunda said this is a dream come true for her. She underwent a throat operation after she was voted off from “Pinoy Dream Academy.”

“Kasi po [I underwent operation] sa vocal fold, they gave me a chance to sing again. Kumportable na, so happy,” she said.

Known for her husky voice, Malunda now returns as the country’s glam punk/pop rock artist.
