DUMAGUETE CITY, April 11 (PIA) — The Tanjay City government here is now gearing up for the second phase of the construction of a boulevard patterned after that of the cities of Dumaguete and Bayawan.
Half of the total 1.4-kilometer stretch of the boulevard is now completed, said Tanjay City Mayor Lawrence Teves in a recent forum.
The first phase of the construction amounted to P40 million.
The city government is now working on the required paperwork to start the second phase of the construction this year.
“We are now crafting the program of work to determine how much money will be needed to construct the second phase of the boulevard,” said Teves.
The mayor added in the same forum that the city government earlier submitted a proposal to the Regional Development Council for the boulevard’s expansion from the city port up to Brgy. Polo.
“This part will entail a large amount of money and we already passed our proposal to RDC for this,” he said.
